We are very pleased to announce more great news at West Midlands Nail & Beauty Academy with more student wins! We scooped 4 places at Uk Nail Tech at NEC in Birmingham in May at Beauty Uk. Our wonderful students Katie Willetts, Stephanie Orchard, Natalie Anderson competed in 4 nail categories. Stephanie Orchard scooped 2nd place in Gel Polish Category and 3rd place in Nail Enhancements category, Katie Willetts scooped 2nd place in Snapshot photographic category, Natalie Anderson scooped 3rd place in Boxed Mixed Media Nail Art category. Every category we entered our students won a place, we are extremely proud of all the hard work and dedication that goes into these student wins, it takes sheer hard work and determination from our students to commit to such a national competition, it can be extremely stressful but also very rewarding indeed for the students to participate and even more rewarding if they win! These 3 students have all completed Level 3 nail technology with the academy, Stephanie Orchard completed level 2 nail technology with the academy previously too, she won 3rd place last year in Boxed nail art so 2 consecutive years she has won medals at UK Nail Tech. A very special thanks to our lovely admin assistant Jaida Preston for being a nail model at the last minute for nail enhancements and gel polish category for Stephanie it really was an all round team effort and it was an added bonus that Jaida has fantastic nail beds with and nail plates with no flaws or imperfections which scores more points in competitions involving nail comps, these are what the judges look for , are the hands and nail photographic? Yes it really does make a big difference. Do you want to be the next aspiring nail technician, these ladies will have amazing opportunities now, the academy will be mentoring these students to teach nail art and nails at the academy part time to become part of our teaching team too.
As a reward for all the hard work the students put in to this competition the academy has paid for some training with a professional in the field of nail art Keiko Venner for a days training in One Stroke Nail Art for the students in Wales, to which they are very excited about, hard work really does pay off and especially getting rewarded for great efforts too is a bonus.
We have another competition though to prepare for Wordskills in July so the students Natalie Anderson and Stephanie Orchard are currently in preparation for that one too!
