MEET LYNDSEY
Lyndsey Tidmarsh is the founder of West Midlands Nail and Beauty Academy. An accomplished beauty professional with over 24 years of experience in the industry, Lyndsey has a wealth of experience to call upon. Throughout her career, she has developed expertise in both salon management and teaching, giving her a unique skillset to pass on to her students.
For eight years, Lyndsey ran a highly successful beauty salon offering clients a wide-range of specialist beauty treatments. During this time, she employed a number of beauty therapists and shared her expertise to help them develop as professionals. Seeing how her experience had helped her employees, Lyndsey was inspired to put her excellent knowledge and skills into teaching beauty students full-time.
EXPERTISE
Wolverhampton College were quick to add Lyndsey’s expertise to their team, making her a course tutor for all nail services. She played an integral role in ensuring the college continued to maintain their record for high achievement rates, teaching students to a high standard that would enable them to excel in the field of nail technology.
After three years at Wolverhampton, Lyndsey moved to South & City College Birmingham where she replicated her prior success. Over the course of six years, she made a substantial contribution to the careers of many beauty therapists, helping them achieve recognition and success at major national competitions.
Having become an established, successful teacher in beauty therapy, Lyndsey wanted to take her career to the next level. She envisaged the creation of a world-class beauty training academy, through which she could dedicate her time and expertise to provide students with the highest level of teaching. Five years later, West Midlands Nail and Beauty Academy has been placed firmly on the map, holding a reputation as one of the United Kingdom’s leading providers of beauty therapy courses.
Even as a successful business owner, Lyndsey’s passion still lies within the classroom. She currently teaches at least 4-5 days a week and continues to produce competition winners on both a regional and national level. She is immensely proud of the recognition West Midlands Nail and Beauty Academy has been receiving across the industry, as well as the numerous awards she has been nominated for herself.
Lyndsey has positioned West Midlands Nail and Beauty Academy at the centre of the community, working with her students on pamper days for Help the Heroes, providing beauty therapies for both The Band of Brothers and The Band of Sisters. Employees have also provided pamper days for residents at St Andrews Healthcare in Stirchley on two occasions – both during their spare time.
QUALIFICATIONS & ACCREDITATIONS
Lyndsey has worked hard to retain her position at the forefront of the beauty therapy sector, undergoing continuous professional development through her 24 years in the industry. During this time, she has attended regular training on the latest beauty treatments and continues to do so. She has completed a wealth of courses, of which notable qualifications include:
Assessors Level 3 Qualification
IQA Level 4 Qualification
Certificate in Education (Staffordshire University)
