We can’t believe it’s October already a month when the clocks go back bringing us shorter days and darker nights.

If you, like many, suffer from feeling lethargic and find it harder to get up in the mornings it might be worth considering booking yourself in at your local Spa for an Indian Head Massage.

Indian head massage is a relaxing holistic treatment that uses acupressure massage on the head, face, neck and shoulders and aims to rebalance your body’s energies.

This form of massage has been practiced in Indian for thousand of years and now, in modern life, has been introduced in many Spa’s as part of overall facial treatments and full body massages.

This ancient treatment will leave you feeling happier, relaxed and ready to take on the day

The treatment concentrates on the three higher “chakras” – mind, body and spirit – basically your energy centres and offers a variety of benefits.

It relieves tension in your neck, back and shoulders and stimulates hair growth and flow of blood relieving stress and helping you sleep better.   It also helps to relieve headaches and eye strain – great when you need to concentrate on your workload

There is an option to have the massage using essential oils which come with their own benefits, enhancing the overall experience.  We particularly like the coconut oil, most popular in India, which leaves a beautiful fragrance in your hair.

In recent months we have been providing free sessions in our Academy for veterans from Help the Heroes who have found the massage beneficial in helping their well-being.

If you’re already in the beauty industry offering an Indian Head Massage increases the services you provide for your client.

Over in our Birmingham Academy we  run a four week Level 3 VTCT Award in Indian Head Massage.  Courses start 3rd October, 7th November, 5th December, 9th January, 6th February, 6th March.

This course, run by qualified practitioners, will teach you the skills involved in providing an Indian head massage treatment. You’ll learn to adapt massage techniques to suit individual client needs and the environment in which the massage takes place.   Plus you will also learn to perform an Indian head massage with or without the use of oils.
