Level 3 Nail Technology Students
Welcome to another blog from West Midlands Nail & Beauty Academy. Well, as you probably know we love to push our students to the limit as much as possible. February saw the ‘Red Carpet Event’. We are very proud to announce that we organised a red carpet fashion/makeup event for all of our Level 3 MUA Students and Level 3 Nail Technology students, our lovely tutor Jenny Andrews organised this fabulous event for the students. As you can see from the photograph, we tried to replicate what it is like back stage of a fashion event whereby make up artists and nail techs would be carrying out make up behind the scenes and nails behind the scenes for models, it was an action packed day, whereby the make up students were doing 3 looks within a short space of time, this is what would take place on set, they would have very limited time scales to produce amazing cat walk and fashion and photographic looks. The day was a huge event, the students really worked so professionally and achieved their desired looks including a model that was made up for an Avatar Scene, Bridal make up look, Rabbit look, Egyptian Look, Evil Mermaid Siren and so on, Vintage Look and of course our Nail Technicians had to carry out the theme of nails to suit those looks, they were given a briefing on which theme they would be doing by our tutor Michelle who teaches the level 3 nail technology group, who is also a previous student at at our academy, as we like to get all of our students in to valuable employment which is key to all of of courses that we offer here at the academy, we really do care about all of our students, we nurture, we motivate, we push, we encourage, we inspire, we believe and in turn pass these powerful words on to all of our students in order for them to achieve their goals.
We organised professional photographs by a professional photographer to take professional images for all of our students work, to enable them to put in their portfolios which will enable them to get work within their chosen field. To be posted on website in due course. We organised for a student from Coventry College ‘Prianka’ to shoot the corporate video to enable her to complete her level 3 media course who intends to work for the BBC in fashion and beauty industry which will be coming soon on our website.
The feedback we had from our students from organising this event for them was: a great day, enjoyed a lot, very invaluable experience, will build my portfolio for future work on set etc. Our students are now ready to go out in to industry, ready. One of our Level 3 MUA students Shanelle had the opportunity of working on set at the Birmingham University’s Roshni Event 2017, Birmingham University apporached our academy for our students to go along to this charity event and carry out make up for all of their models on the catwalk at Roshni 2017, of course we were really honoured to be part of this event, Shanelle worked a gruelling 6.5 hours carrying out fashion and photographic make up, we are just so proud of her and carried out this event free of charge using her own time and effort for this charity event, it was great enrichment for her and one she thoroughy enjoyed, again photographs to follow, this will stand Shanelle in good stead for future within the fashion and photographic industry.
New courses- micro blading lip and eyeliner course
We are now pleased to announce that we now have the eyeliner microblading course and microblading eyeliner course now accredited. Our trainer Anastasijia will be carrying out these courses at the academy, gain there are only limited places available each month for these courses. We pride ourselves in keeping up to date with the latest trends within the beauty industry so that we can offer the latest courses and to keep all of our students up to date in their skills. The eyeliner and lip liner course will only be available to students who have completed the microblading eyebrow course as this is a pre requisite of the new courses in microblading. Our trainer Anastasijia is constantly updating her skills all the time to offer the very best just like all of our other tutors who teach at this academy and is part of the rigourous CPD we all carry out as tutors. We really do ensure that all of our tutors can offer the best training possible so that we can offer the very best to all of our students.
