The advantage of working for yourself in the Beauty Industry is that once the school holidays arrive you can start to plan your working day around family activities, something you can’t do every day when working full-time for an organisation.
It’s great to have that flexibility to work with your clients in the morning and have time to take the kids out in the afternoon.
And, if it means working in the evening to free up time the following day, then that’s something you can do.
I have spoken to lots of students I’ve taught at my Academy who have children. They say it’s fantastic to work for yourself as you have a better work/life balance and I totally agree having had children myself.
So, with planning and flexible working you have the chance to go to so many events over the weeks to come.
Here are some events I’ve picked out to enjoy with the whole family:-
Escape Live sets groups of between two and six players a challenge to get out of a themed escape experience room within an hour. They must solve a series of clues in order to be successful in their mission. A great way to bond with the family whilst getting those brains working!.

They have a special offer at the moment with membership only a pound! But you have to hurry for this one. They have a great swimming pool, gym and lots of activities to keep your kids fit!
One of the city’s most famous parks. Great for a family picnic and there’s lot of things for kids to do such as crazy golf, funfair and nature centre. They have recently started to charge parking fees so do check this out.
There are opportunities to enjoy walking, jogging, nature watching, orienteering, play areas, restaurants and use bridle paths and cycling routes in the Park. You can now enjoy a boat ride on the pool too! Great for picnics but be mindful to leave the park as you found it – take your waste home.
All kids love Dinosaurs right? This is a spectacular show at the Arena Birmingham. Seen by over 9 million people in more than 250 cities around the world. Be amazed and thrilled as the greatest creatures ever to walk the earth return before your eyes!
