Hello and welcome to another blog I hope you like our new WordPress website it has all of our up to date courses on here. September has soon come around, exciting opportunities for a new career change to enroll on a course at West Midlands Nail & Beauty Academy. We are offering a range of fully funded courses on our level 3 programmes, ranging from Level 3 Nail Technology, Level 3 Complementary Therapies and Level 3 Make Up Artistry (MUA). I am so excited about the Level 3 Make Up Artistry Course it is an excellent course that is aimed for potential Make Up Artists (MUA), allowing you to work on set as a professional Make up Artist at catwalk shows, theatre,films etc. This qualification can open up many doors in the make up industry. We have a great tutor whom is delivering the course who has worked at some of the best colleges, Warwickshire & North Hinckley, this college wins more awards at Worldskills for make up artistry than any other college, we are very proud to announce Jenny Andrews to our team at West Midlands Nail & Beauty Academy, she has delivered this course for over 15 years working at some of the best colleges, I had the very pleasure of working with Jenny at one of the Birmingham Colleges we taught at together, we only employ some of the best tutors at our academy to ensure quality every time.
The units covered for this amazing course are: Apply Make up, Fashion & Photographic Make Up, Media Make Up, Camouflage Make Up, Airbrushing Make Up, Face & Body Painting, Instruct and deliver make up lesson and many more, it has a total of 10 units and we have chosen the best make up course to benefit our students and their budding make up career. This month we have Professional Beauty North at G Mex Centre, Manchester on 18th & 19th September another beauty show, our level 3 students and myselfand another tutor will be visiting for enrichment for the day, we also have student competitions going on, yes more student competitions, my student’s have entered manicure competition and also the boxed nail art mixed media which is professional category that means for nail techs who have been in industry, however my one student is a student on Level 3 just to push the limits, she is up against real pros, however we won’t let that phase us, we love to push our student’s to the next level and what better than entering competitions it gives them the confidence to really step outside their comfort zones, it teaches discipline, improves their practical and self development skills and it is a bonus if they get placed, but most of all it’s the excitement of it and knowing that they can gain some recognition for what they have achieved, placements or not, it gives them a taste of what the industry is like and what they can achieve in the future. We have been invited back for the day to St.Andrews Hospital to carry out treatments all day on 3rd October which is a real honour, our student’s will carry out treatments and give something back to the community, which looks great on their CV’s carrying out manicure and pedicures helps for their future employment prospects, therefore enrichment is something we like to focus on here at the academy, getting the student’s CV’s filled with valuable opportunities.
